my first February Lady sweater. I measure a 46 which is between the L and XL (go figure). My swatch did grow a bit after being washed and blocked so I’m going to make the Large.
For the neckline to be higher, I am going to do as others have cast on for the small and working increases to the large. I also would like the lace to start below my breasts. I think that I will make the sleeves long. That’s the plan.. Here goes.
March 20, 2009 I’m on the yoke and it’s going great. I did the math and I need xl sleeves. The Large called for 24 repeats on the yoke - 26 takes me to the proper number of stitches since I cast on the smaller neck. To get the sleeve width, I need to repeat the yoke 2 more times for a total of 28 then lose 2 stitches later from the body.
So details that I changed.
- Cast on 83
- Row 4: k14for the markers
- Repeats of 5 and 6: repeat 28 times
- On the button bands to make the math come out right instead of the 8 for L or 10 for xl, I’m using 9 to take out the 2 extra stitches on the body from the yoke repeats for the sleeves.
- On the separate the sleeves: k9, slip marker,k42 in lace pattern, slip 70 onto scrap yarn, cast on 7,k98,slip 70 onto scrap yarn, cast on 7, k42,slip marker, k9. (Total of 214 stitches)

finished the yoke and ready to push on. I'm going to move to scrap yarn and try the thing on... I'll know soon if I'm making a sweater or am just going to frog this puppy.
