Started the Elizabeth Zimmerman Baby Surprise Jacket
The instructions seem clear but the result is a bit ambiguous. I'm only on row 37 of 90 so there is a lot left to go. I'm knitting the EZ BSJ on size 2 needles and the organic cotton seems to really like the smaller gauge - the knitting is going very smoothly. It is in garter stitch so it's lack of stretch should not be a problem.

My knitting bag from book Knitter's Stash
Finished baby blanket/sleeping bag
I FINISHED! Since I started the double knitted blanket we found out that our new grandbaby is a girl! So she got lacy edges. This is made with organic undyed cotton. It can be used to slip the baby inside or as a receiving blanket. It can also be used as a baby bath towel since it's cotton. (My granddaughter Madeleine loaned me her baby doll Jilly to show the blanket)

Today tinked for 3 hours on double knit
1. Okay, you don't want to make a mistake and perl when you should be slipping perlwise with double knitting. Especially if you don't notice for 12 rows. If it had been regular knitting I would have frogged back to fix but I didn't have the nerve to try and recover the double knitting setup after frogging (read terror here).
So tinking on double knit is just like knitting double knit except twice as slow.
Really need to check at the end of every row for mistakes. Other wise this is going to be a double thick blanket instead of a baby sleeping bag.
But I am 17 inches through a 32 inch project!

working on the receiving blanket/bath towel/sleeping bag for new grandbaby
After working about 10 swatches to find a nice stitch in the Bluesky organic cotton, decided that since it didn't stretch simple was best. I am doing a double knit receiving blanket that I will finish off into a pocket (bind off each side seperately). It is a large version of EZ's potholder. I am using a 2ply brown/cream twist. The cotton is very fragile (it pulls apart very easily) so I knitting very loosely.
On the plus side, it is VERY soft and feels good in my lap.
Other ideas are bibs, saque/kimono, washcloth, caps and booties. Pictures to follow.
